This amazing mixer offers two sets of meters for PFL and AFL levels, a three-band graphic eq section with bass, midrange and treble sliders for each channel, and a flexible headphone monitoring system to provide the user with many choices on what and how to listen to their cue.
The AEMi is the next generation of the highly-acclaimed AEM-100 mixer introduced by a company called Audio Innovate("AI")which was founded in 2005 by Elliot Marx, an audio electronics and DSP engineer with 11 years experience in designing mixers and CD players for the DJ industry. Elliot Marx is known for developing "The Beatkeeper" and providing DJs with very powerful hands-on DSP based tools.
AI's mission is to provide the DJ with unique, practical, and rugged tools for both live performance and studio recording. With DJ's becoming more and more like musicians in their own light, AI is constantly seeking ways to give DJs the ability to bring performance to a new level.

The AEMi is a special and upgraded version of the highly-acclaimed AEM-100 mixer. AI introduced the AEM-100 in 2005 and many DJs came back with great input which AI incorporated to make this mixer a powerful and easy to use device.

At the London Calling, based on feedback from DJs and from Musik Messe 2006, Audio Innovate introduced a more ergonomic, scratch-friendly version of the AEM-100 called the AEM-100i and is currently being offered exclusively in the United States by TopDJGear.com
The first thing you'll notice is the color coding. With all of the various sections it's helpful to be able to look at the mixer and figure out what section does what.
So what happened to the Fader Cuts? Many of you thought it was too much and got in the way of scratching. AI still have them on the original AEM-100, on the AEM-100i they give you a clean faceplate. Getting rid of the Fader Cuts also allowed AI to put back the upfader curves and reverse switches.
A good mixer should feel as good as it sounds and functions. So AI replaced all of the knobs with color coded rubber knobs. If you get a chance to work with the mixer, you'll notice that having these knobs makes it easier to work the mixer, especially in the effects section.
